The time it takes to complete your degree at Nexford depends on your individual pace, course load, and how consistently you progress through your program. You have meaningful control over how quickly you finish.
Average Program Completion Times
The following are typical completion times based on standard progression:
| Program | Average Completion Time |
|---|---|
| Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) | ~48 months |
| Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration (AAS) | ~24 months |
| Master of Business Administration (MBA) | ~18 months |
| Career Pathways | ~9 months |
| Certificate Programs | ~6 months |
These are averages. Your actual completion time may be shorter or longer depending on the factors below.
What Affects Your Completion Time
1. How Quickly You Complete Individual Courses
Nexford courses are structured across 8 weeks, but you can complete assignments at your own pace within that window. Many learners finish a course within one month, which allows them to begin their next course sooner and progress through the program faster.
2. How Many Courses You Take at Once
Most learners begin by taking one course at a time. Once you meet the initial course, academic standing, and financial requirements for your program, you may be eligible to take more than one course simultaneously. Taking multiple courses at once is the most effective way to accelerate your progress.
The requirements to take on additional courses vary by program:
| Program | Single-Course Period | Minimum CGPA to Accelerate |
|---|---|---|
| Undergraduate Career Pathway Programs | First 2 courses | 2.0 |
| Associate of Applied Science (AAS) | First 4 courses | 3.0 |
| Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) | First 7 courses | 3.0 |
| Master's degree programs | First 5 courses | 3.6 |
For more details on course load eligibility, see this guide.
3. Staying on Track
Consistent progress also depends on meeting assignment deadlines, maintaining good academic standing, and keeping your tuition payments current. Falling behind in any of these areas can extend your program timeline.
Important Note for Learners in Kenya
To meet the requirements of the Commission on University Education (CUE), your program must be completed within the following minimum timeframes:
| Program Level | Minimum Duration |
|---|---|
| Graduate Programs (e.g., MBA) | 1 year |
| Undergraduate Programs (e.g., BBA, AAS) | 3 years |
These minimums are relevant if you are pursuing civil service eligibility or planning to continue into a PhD program at certain universities in Kenya. If this applies to you, discuss your study plan with your Success Advisor to make sure your timeline aligns with local requirements.
