Can I take more than one course at once?

Modified on Wed, 24 Jun at 7:59 PM

Yes, once you meet the requirements for your program. All learners begin by taking one course at a time to build a strong academic foundation. After completing your program's initial single-course period, you may be eligible to enroll in up to two courses per term.

Note: This article reflects the policies in the current catalog. If you are enrolled under a previous catalog version, your course load requirements may differ. Please refer to your applicable catalog or contact your Success Advisor for clarification.

Initial Single-Course Requirements and CGPA to Accelerate

The number of courses you must complete one at a time -- and the minimum CGPA required to take on a second course -- depends on your program:

ProgramSingle-Course PeriodMinimum CGPA to Enroll in 2 Courses
Career Pathway ProgramsFirst 2 courses2.0
Associate degree programs (e.g., AAS)First 4 courses3.0
Bachelor's degree programs (e.g., BBA)First 7 courses3.0
Master's degree programs (e.g., MBA, MSDA) First 5 courses3.6

Additional Requirements

To enroll in two courses at once, you must also:

  • Have no outstanding tuition balance
  • Not be enrolled in a capstone course -- all capstone courses must be taken individually

If your CGPA falls below the required threshold at any point, or if you have an outstanding balance, your course load will automatically be reduced to one course per term until the issue is resolved.
