At Nexford, all learners begin by taking one course at a time. Once you have met the initial requirements for your program, you may be eligible to enroll in two courses per term.
Note: This article reflects the policies in the current catalog. Learners enrolled under a previous catalog version should refer to their applicable catalog or contact Learner Success for clarification.
Initial Single-Course Period and CGPA Requirements
The number of courses you must complete one at a time — and the minimum CGPA required to take on a second course — depends on your program:
| Program | Single-Course Period | Minimum CGPA for Two Courses |
|---|---|---|
| Undergraduate Career Pathway Programs | First 2 courses | 2.0 |
| Associate degree programs (e.g., AAS) | First 4 courses | 3.0 |
| Bachelor's degree programs (e.g., BBA) | First 7 courses | 3.0 |
| Master's degree programs (e.g., MBA, MSDA) | First 5 courses | 3.6 |
| Mini-MBA Graduate Certificate | 1 course per term | Seminar may be taken alongside another course |
Additional Requirements
To enroll in two courses at once, you must also:
- Have no outstanding tuition balance
- Not be enrolled in a capstone course — all capstone courses must be taken one at a time
If your CGPA falls below the required threshold or you carry an outstanding balance, your course load will be automatically restricted to one course per term until the issue is resolved.
Maximum Course Load
The maximum course load at Nexford is two courses per term, regardless of program or CGPA.
