Mandatory Seminars in Select Nexford Graduate Programs

Modified on Tue, 23 Jun at 5:19 PM

Live seminars are a required component of select Nexford graduate programs. These sessions combine synchronous and asynchronous collaborative learning and are designed to deepen your practical knowledge, build peer connections, and develop professional competencies you can apply immediately.

Which Programs Include Mandatory Seminars?

Seminars are a graduation requirement in the following programs:

  • Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship (MBAE)
  • Master of Business Administration in Finance (MBAF)
  • Master of Science in AI and Technology Management (MSAI)

If you are enrolled in one of these programs, seminars are part of your required curriculum, not optional activities. If you are unsure whether your specific program includes seminars, check your Program Page in myNXU or contact your Success Advisor.

How Seminars Work

  • Format: Each seminar is a 1-credit course that runs for four weeks. Sessions include a mix of large-group and small-group discussions, simulations, role plays, and inquiry-based activities, delivered through both live synchronous sessions and asynchronous work.
  • Workload: Each seminar requires approximately 10 hours of work per week.
  • Assignments: Seminars include both individual and group assignments. Note that the late work submission policy does not apply to seminar courses.
  • Scheduling: Seminars are not offered every month. You can view upcoming seminar dates on your Program Page in the myNXU portal.
  • Automatic Enrollment: You will be automatically enrolled in your required seminars as they align with your program progression, typically alongside your other course(s).

Attendance and Participation Requirements

Attendance at all live seminar sessions and completion of all related assignments are mandatory. These requirements apply to every learner in a program where seminars are a graduation requirement.

Withdrawal Policy

Seminars cannot be independently dropped from your schedule once you are enrolled. If you have serious concerns about your ability to attend the live sessions, contact your Success Advisor as early as possible to discuss your options. Submit your concern through the Academic Request Form.

Be aware that if a withdrawal is processed, it will count against your Academic Pace and may affect your overall program completion timeline.
