For intermediate courses, you are required to achieve a passing grade in all courses and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or better. For advanced courses, you are required to achieve a passing grade in all courses and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better.

If you are not sure how many courses you’ve completed, how to calculate your GPA, or what your course completion pace is, you can discuss your academic performance by scheduling a Advising Session.

Maintaining satisfactory academic progress is crucial for success in your program at Nexford University. This involves meeting specific requirements for your Grade Point Average (GPA) and course completion pace, as well as performance in particular stages of your program.

Overall Program Academic Requirements

All learners in any degree or certificate program are expected to maintain the following standards throughout their studies:

  • Course Completion Pace: You must successfully complete at least 67% of the courses you attempt.

  • Minimum GPA: You must maintain the minimum Cumulative GPA (CGPA) for your program.

    • Graduate Programs (e.g., MBA): You must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or better.

    • Undergraduate Programs (e.g., AAS, BBA): You must maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or better.

In addition to overall program standards, you must maintain the equivalent course GPA for all courses in your program -- 2.0 for undergraduate courses and 3.0 for graduate courses. Note that learners who are taking graduate-level courses in an undergraduate program must achieve a minimum 'B' or 3.0 GPA score in the course.

Understanding Your Academic Standing

Learners can keep track of their Academic Standing in myNXU. Your CGPA in your active program is always displayed at the top of your myNXU home screen.

To view your program progress and scores on completed courses, view Your Learning Path. You will see the score for all completed courses.

For courses in progress, you can see your current score by selecting the course in myNXU to navigate to the course in the Canvas LMS. In Canvas:

  1. Navigate to your course by selecting the course card on your dashboard.
  2. In the course, select the "Grades" link in the course navigation.
