All programs at Nexford University are taught in English. To ensure you have the language skills needed to succeed, we require verification of English proficiency before finalizing your admission.
You can meet this requirement using one of the following options:
Option 1: Medium of Instruction (MOI) Letter
- What it is: An official letter or statement from the institution where you completed your relevant previous degree (e.g., the institution that granted the Bachelor's degree if applying for a Master's program).
- Requirement: The document must clearly state that English was the sole medium of instruction for the entire duration of the specific program you completed.

Option 2: Standardized English Test Score
- What it is: Official scores from a recognized English proficiency test, taken within the last two years.

- Exams identified within the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR):
- Undergraduate: B-2
- Graduate: B-2
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS):
- Submission: Request the official testing organization (e.g., ETS for TOEFL, British Council/IDP for IELTS, Pearson VUE for PTE) to send your scores directly to Nexford University at registrar@nexford.edu.
Option 3: Duolingo English Test
- What it is: An online English proficiency test accepted by Nexford.
- How to Take: Visit the Duolingo English Test website: https://englishtest.duolingo.com/applicants
- Fee: Approximately $59 USD (Please verify the current fee on the Duolingo website).
- Minimum Score Requirements:
- Undergraduate level programs: 90
- Graduate level programs: 100
- Submission: After you receive your certified results, log in to your Duolingo account and select 'Nexford University' from the list of institutions to share your results directly with us electronically. (You can find detailed instructions on sharing results here.)
Important Notes
- All proof of English proficiency (MOI letters, test scores) must be official and sent directly to Nexford from the issuing institution or testing organization. Documents submitted by the applicant cannot be accepted as official proof.
