If you have already submitted your transcript and have been contacted by NXU Admissions to submit it again, you may be feeling a little confused! This article explains the difference between unofficial and official transcripts and why Nexford University requires your official transcript for final admission, even if you submitted an unofficial one during your application.
Understanding Transcript Types
Unofficial Transcript
- What it is: A transcript provided directly by you (the applicant/learner), often a scan, download, or copy of your academic record.
- Its Purpose: Used by Admissions for initial review and to grant provisional acceptance. This allows you to begin your studies at Nexford while we await official verification.
Official Transcript
- What it is: A transcript sent directly from your previous educational institution (e.g., high school, college, university) to Nexford University. It typically has security features like a seal, stamp, or secure electronic delivery method.
- Its Purpose: Required to verify your previous qualifications and finalize your admission status at Nexford. It confirms the information provided on your unofficial transcript.
Why Does Nexford Require an Official Transcript?
Submitting an official transcript directly from your previous institution is a standard university requirement. It provides verified proof of your academic history, confirms your eligibility, and allows us to complete your admission record accurately.
How to Submit Your Official Transcript
To fulfill this requirement, you must contact the institution that granted your previous qualification(s) and request that they send your official transcript directly to Nexford University using one of the following methods:
- (Preferred) Secure Electronic Copy: Ask your previous institution if they offer secure electronic transcript delivery. If so, they should send it directly to: transcripts@nexford.edu.
-OR- - Official Hard Copy by Mail: Ask your previous institution to mail a sealed, official hard copy to:
