If you want to finish a course faster than the standard 51-day timeline, Nexford supports an accelerated pace. This article gives you recommended target dates to help you complete a course, or two courses at once, within one month.
Note: This article reflects the policies in the current catalog. If you are enrolled under a previous catalog version, specific timelines may differ. Please refer to your applicable catalog or contact your Success Advisor for clarification.
How Accelerated Pacing Works
Nexford courses run on a 51-day active learning period by default. If you complete your work faster, you don't have to wait for the standard schedule. You can move on to your next course as soon as you finish, starting on the 1st of the following month.
Important: The target dates below are self-paced goals to help you finish within one month. They are not shown automatically in Canvas, and they do not replace your official course deadlines. Your system deadlines remain Day 10, 17, 24, 31, 38, 45, and 51. If you don't hit an accelerated target, you have not missed anything official, as long as you stay ahead of the standard deadlines. Module 1 still carries a hard Day 10 deadline that is not eligible for late submission, so build your accelerated plan with that in mind.
Recommended Target Dates: Completing a Course in One Month
| Milestone | Standard Deadline | Accelerated Target (1 Month) |
|---|---|---|
| Module 1 | Day 10 | Day 5 |
| Module 2 | Day 17 | Day 8 |
| Module 3 | Day 24 | Day 12 |
| Module 4 | Day 31 | Day 15 |
| Module 5 | Day 38 | Day 19 |
| Module 6 | Day 45 | Day 22 |
| Final Project | Day 51 | Day 25 |
Taking Two Courses at the Same Time
If you are taking two courses concurrently, the same target dates above apply to each course individually. Both courses run on the same calendar, so the milestones don't change. What changes is your weekly time commitment, since you are covering two courses' worth of work in the same window.
Estimated Time Commitment
| Course Load | Standard Pace (2 Months) | Accelerated Pace (1 Month) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 course (135 hrs total) | 15–20 hrs/week | 30–40 hrs/week |
| 2 courses (270 hrs total) | 32–35 hrs/week | 65–70 hrs/week |
Taking two courses at an accelerated pace is a significant time commitment. Before committing to this path, make sure you have the eligibility to take two courses concurrently and the weekly availability to sustain it.
Is Accelerated Pace Right for You?
Accelerating is a good fit if you can consistently set aside the additional hours shown above, especially in the weeks with heavier module workloads. If your availability varies week to week, the standard pace gives you more room to absorb a slower week without falling behind.
Eligibility to take two courses at once depends on your program's course load requirements. Confirm your eligibility with your Success Advisor before planning around the two-course timeline.
