What are Stackable Credentials?

Stackable credentials are a series of smaller educational programs that, when completed in a specific sequence, lead to a higher-level credential. For example, a certificate program can "stack" into a bachelor's degree, or a single course can stack into a certificate. This allows you to earn valuable credentials along the way to your ultimate degree, making you more marketable to employers at every stage.

How it Works in myNXU

Our new system in myNXU under the programs tab analyzes your current enrollment and displays information about other NXU credentials that you are on track to complete should you wish to enroll in them. The information you see will depend on what you are currently enrolled in:

• Degree Programs: If you are in a degree program, myNXU will show you any NXU certificates or other credentials that you are on track to complete. This highlights opportunities to gain additional, specialized skills with minimal extra effort.

• Certificates: If you are pursuing a certificate, myNXU will display the NXU degree programs that your current certificate can stack into. This helps you see a clear pathway to a bachelor's or master's degree.

• Courses: If you are enrolled in a single course, myNXU will show you which NXU certificates that course can stack into. This allows you to see how your current learning contributes to a larger credential.
