Quick Guide: AI in Courses Starting September 1, 2025

Modified on Mon, 7 Jul at 12:50 PM

AI is now a core part of your Nexford learning experience. Starting September 1, 2025, our new AI Usage Policy goes into effect. Here’s what you need to know to get started.

Four Key Changes:

  1. AI Use is Expected: You are now required to use AI tools strategically in some course assignments. This is designed to help you build essential workplace skills. If you choose not to use AI for a specific assignment, you must explain your reasoning.
  2. Disclose Your Usage: For relevant assignments, you must complete an "AI Disclosure Form." This is where you'll explain which tools you used, how you used them, and how you added your own critical thinking. Transparency is mandatory.
  3. Evaluation Includes AI Skills: Your assignments will be evaluated on two levels: the quality of your work and how effectively you used AI to achieve it. Check your course rubrics for specific details.
  4. New Graduation Requirement: All degree learners must now complete designated AI-focused courses to graduate. These courses are provided at no additional cost and will not affect your regular course load.

Important Note on Academic Integrity: Representing AI-generated content as your own without proper disclosure is still considered plagiarism. Always document your AI usage. For more details, please read the full Nexford AI Policy & Usage Guidelines.
