What is a proctored assignment?

Modified on Tue, 18 Mar at 3:01 PM

Proctored assessments, offered via the Constructor Proctor platform, are included at regular intervals throughout all NXU degree programs to ensure academic honesty. A proctored assignment platform is an assessment administered and supervised by AI through the Constructor Proctor platform, cloud-based software that allows instructors to create and administer proctored assignments.

You will be asked to use the Constructor Proctor platform to take these assessments on camera, under AI supervision. During the assessment, the Constructor Proctor platform will monitor your computer activity and record your webcam footage. This can help to identify any suspicious activity, such as students look at other students' work or using unauthorized materials.

When taking a proctored assessment, you will need to show your government-issued ID so that your identity can be verified. During the assessment, you will not be permitted to use any external devices or resources. If the proctoring platform flags an academic honesty violation to have taken place, the recording of your assessment will be reviewed by faculty and may result in disciplinary action.
