After you upload and submit an assignment in Canvas, it's important to verify that your submission was successful.
- Immediately after you complete the submission process for an assignment, stay on the assignment page or refresh it.
- Look towards the top right or main area of the assignment page.
- You should see a clear confirmation status. Typically, this will display as "Submitted" and will usually include the date and time of your submission. You may also see details or a link to the file(s) you submitted.
What to Do If You Don't See Confirmation or Encounter an Issue
If you do not see a "Submitted!" status on the assignment page, are unsure if your submission was successful, or if you encounter an error message:
- Try re-submitting: If the assignment deadline has not passed and the settings for that assignment allow for multiple attempts, carefully try submitting your file again.
- Take a screenshot and Report the Issue: If you receive an error message or something looks incorrect, take a screenshot. Report the issue to IT Support, and attach the screenshot (if you took one) and any relevant information.
Recommendation: We strongly advise submitting your assignments well before the deadline. This gives you ample time to verify the submission and address any potential technical issues without an impending deadline adding stress.
